Disciplinary Process
Receiving Complaints or Reports
Sources of complaints may include:
Client Feedback: Email, phone, surveys, or online reviews
Colleague Reports: Concerns raised by fellow doulas, supervisors, or external partners
Management Oversight: Concerns identified during check-ins, audits, or client interactions
Required information:
Names or anonymous ID of complainant
Incident details (date, location, people involved)
Supporting materials (photos, screenshots, messages, testimonies)
Initial Screening:
The ADA Disciplinary Committee will determine within 3 business days whether to launch a formal investigation.
Investigation Panel:
Conducted by a 3-member team from ADA’s Disciplinary Committee
Investigation Process:
Collect relevant documentation and witness interviews
Give the accused doula a fair opportunity to explain
Assess impact on clients and ADA's reputation
Timeframe:
Investigation to be completed within 5 business days
Appeals Process
How to Appeal
Submit a written appeal within 5 business days of decision
Include reasons, explanation, and any additional evidence
Review Timeline
A new review will be completed within 10 business days
May include new interviews or document reviews
Final decision is binding and will be communicated to all parties
Record Management
All disciplinary records are stored securely for a minimum of 3 years
