Upcoming ADA exam dates, how to register, the exam fees, and when results arrive.

Postpartum Doula exam

Exams are held at 7515 Irvine Center Drive, #110, Irvine, CA 92618. The exam fee is $625, paid to ADA.

Who can register: Candidates who have completed an ADA-approved training program.
How: Your training provider guides you through registration. You can also register with ADA directly at contact@asiandoula.org or +1 (714) 202-6501.
Exam language: Choose English, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese or Korean when you register. All exam materials are provided in the language you choose.
Your ID: Bring a valid government-issued photo ID on exam day. Exam day and ID

The program: The ADA Birth Doula Program runs cohorts on a rolling basis. ADA Birth Doula

Exam fees are paid to ADA. Fees for the training program are set by each training provider.

ADA exam fees

Exam registration	$625	Covers the written and the practical exam. Paid to ADA.
Retake	$325	Each new attempt after a result below 70/100. Wait at least 30 days after your attempt.
Renewal	$100	Renews your certificate for another year.
Fee assistance	Partial or full	Need-based and merit-based scholarships for training and exam fees. Scholarships

When: By email, about 7–10 business days after your exam.
Your result: A score out of 100 and a level: Highly Proficient (90 and above), Proficient (70–89) or Not Proficient (below 70). The pass mark is 70/100.
If you pass: ADA issues your certificate, valid for 1 year, with a number in the form ADA-PD-YYYY-NNNN, and publishes your record in the ADA registry.
If you do not pass: Register for a later date. The retake fee is $325, and you can retake the exam 30 days or more after your attempt.
